HA! Remember when I posted about Ryan Miller being in a commercial about switching over to digital cable? I FOUND IT! Huzzah. I'm not sure why but this is hilarious to me. It's like Eric Staal just learned to read and is really feeling the pressure to do it on cue. ".gov? I've never even heard of that before." Awesome Jordan! Jonathan Toews looks like someone drugged him and then threw him in front of the camera. He's 2 steps away from running away and yelling "I NEED AN ADULT!" My tv is ready Ryan!

OK why do I never see the Sabres Is This The Year commercials? I have watched them on the NHL website... but have yet to see them on TV! Conspiracy I say!

Ryan Miller is a bonafide athlete AND actor. He needs to make some local commercials, seriously.
Those commercials where they come out of a photograph and talk are seriously cool, but I think she's referring to the ones where it's just a bunch of nice stills of the teams and then at the end there's a little catchphrase about the team or player.
I think the one for the Sabres is, "No matter how cold it gets in Buffalo, the scoreboard is always kept warm." A few other teams have the same line too.
There's one with Miller too and it's something like, "The more pucks he's fed, the stronger he gets."

YES! They have one with him in it but he doesn't step out of the pic... my favorite ones are when you can see the puck traveling at a slow rate of speed... OMG so cool!

What I love about these commercials is that the game is slowed down for the viewer and we see the raw emotion and the grit of the players... The game is so face paced that sometimes as a fan we forget the emotions and true grit that these guys put forth in a lifetime commitment to a game. The music gives me the chills. I have no idea why... it just does.
The NHL has some seriously brilliant advertising. The commercials are BEAUTIFUL.
It pisses me off that they only advertise during games. You have no idea. Those commercials... Wow. Far above and beyond any other sport's, including the NBA during the playoffs (and they always pull out the works for those commercials).
Anyway.
