Take THAT Mouse Potatoes!

DREW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys have NO idea how pumped I was to see Stafford score not once but TWICE tonight! Hallelujah it's a black friday miracle! I simply can't stand all the hate on Drew right now. All the trade talk. I read a thread on a Sabres message board all about how Drew needs to drop the rock and roll star attitude and play hockey. Ugh it makes me so mad. Everyone goes through slumps. I hope he can keep on playing the way he did tonight because he was clearly amazing. I didn't see the 3 stars of the game but clearly Drew should be 1st.

And let us all GIVE A HONK FOR THE GOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Mr. Game Winner! Where are you going to spend your 20 cents Paul? In case you missed it, Goose said in his post game interview that his grandfather has given him a dime for every goal he has scored since he was little. How cute is that?!

I was so happy to see the Sabres get 2 pts. tonight. I really really can not stand Sidney Crosby, or the "crown jewel of the nhl" as I like to call him. I'd really like to see Kaleta or Mair punch him square in the jaw. Oh well....doesn't matter. He's a big ol' loser tonight. Huzzah!

I leave you tonight with this picture....I'm hanging my head in shame with embarrassment for this silly woman. I feel bad that she's displaying such ridiculous behavior in public.

Give Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope you all had a wonderful day with your family or friends. I myself spent the day with my family. My sister and I have a yearly tradition of going out and buying a new Christmas decoration every Turkey day. After that my mom and I put the lights on the house. I'm still pretty full from the huge dinner we ate. Stuffing is always my favorite...and boy am I stuffed! AND I baked my own dutch apple pie!!! I'm lucky I can cook kraft mac and cheese and I baked a pie! WOO!

I hope you all have thought about what to be thankful for today. I am thankful to be surrounded by such an amazing family and friends. I'm thankful to be healthy and I'm so happy that I'm learning more and more about wise choices every day. I'm thankful that God has given me so many amazing gifts and opportunities in my life. AND I'm thankful that the Sabres have broken their losing streak! Lets beat those Pens tomorrow!!!

Now pick that pumpkin pie out of your teeth and get to bed! All the good deals will be gone by 4am! hahaha I myself will be sleeping as long as I possibly can and going out shopping when I feel like it.

NOT a happy Thanksgiving Eve!

The game is blacked out here. WTF Time Warner?! You clearly suck. It's ok though...because I really wanted to sit down tonight and watch sports bloopers and professional poker.

akdjfhlakdjfhalksdjfhalskdfjhsaldkjfhlaskdjfhlasdkjfhlsadkjfhlkadsjfhldskjfah!!!!!!

Those new jerseys SOUND really great on the radio! :O(

***POST GAME EDIT***

SABRES WIN!!!! The streak is broken! It's a Thanksgiving miracle! Seems Roy had an awesome game and Kaleta had some monster hits! I'm headed over to gettyimages to make sure I can see at least some of tonight's action. God Bless Bill Wippert!

Ryan Miller Meet and Greet and #9's Behind

I got home from Buffalo last night around 2am. What a great weekend!!!

Ok so the game....not so great. I had pretty high hopes that we were going to beat the Islanders. 7-1 last time! 7 to 1! I was pretty psyched to see Mancari score though! Holler! What was I not psyched about? I was not a happy camper to see Ryan on the bench. I don't mind Lalime at all. I think he's great. But when I drive 3 hours to see a game, I want to watch Ryan. Also, I pretty much want to sit in the top row of the arena all the time! Top row's the way to go! We made some pretty dandy signs to put up on the wall too. hahahaha

After the game we discovered possibly the best thing to ever happen to downtown Buffalo. "Level" nightclub and Vitamin Water were throwing a bash for Derek Roy to support him and all-star voting. If that isn't great enough guess what this shin-dig was called! Wait for it...."GET BEHIND #9!" Is that not the funniest thing you ever heard?! I bet his "P.A" was first in line to "get behind."

The tree lighting was pretty cool. It was so cute to see everyone so "christmasy." Ryan Miller was so great with all the kids. He came out early and signed everything from jerseys to reindeer antlers. As much as I love him, and that's really a lot, he's quite awkward. His speech was so great and odd at the same time. Here's the cliffs notes version.....Ryan wants the ugliest holiday sweater he can find to make all the hockey wives cringe at the Christmas party. When Miller and "Big Goose Tall Goose" lived together they left their tree up until March. It was for the "ambiance." I also loved when Ryan thanked the mayor and nobody really clapped until he said "yay? everybody clap?" hahaha good times! Lucinda took a video of his speech but I'll let her post that.

The Meet and Greet was really nice! It was in a small room at the Smith Theatre next to Shea's. Tables were set with peppermint filled bowls and poinsettias and Christmas music was playing. There was a large table set up with dunkin donuts, coffee and hot chocolate. So cute! I was with my sister getting some coffee when Ryan came in. He grabbed a doughnut (omg he's so skinny! eat more doughnuts ryan!) and some hot chocoate and mingled his way through the room. His autograph table was in the corner of the room. He sat there and played with his iphone until everyone was ready to go.

He was so nice and it was a great time! The Rockette's show was AMAZING! I cried my eyes out at the end. I had a feeling I would. Oh....and we spotted another Sabre in the audience with his wife and 2 adorable daughters. The Numminens. They were so cute! Pretty much the best weekend ever. End of story.

Shuffle off to Buffalo

I just finished packing. I'm the worst procrastinator EVER! Tomorrow I only have 4 classes to teach in the morning and then Lucinda and I along with my sister are off to the weekend of wonder in Buffalo. I can't even tell you guys how excited I am for this weekend. This is the first time we have ever had seats in the very top row, so we made signs for the wall. I've decided to show some love for Stafford with mine. :O) PLUS RYAN MILLER AND THE ROCKETTES!!!! Oh there will be so many pictures when I come home.

Dear Sabres,
I'm driving 3 hours to come see you guys tomorrow. Not only that, but I'm driving through the snow belt to see you. THAT is love boys. So please. For me. Pull your heads out of your asses and play a full 60 mins. of hockey! I know you can do it!
Love you all still even though you make me crazy sometimes!

Who is your Edward?

I'm not talking about last night's game. It's out of my head. I'm pretending it didn't happen.

So....I'm going to focus on being SUPER EXCITED that in about 3 hours I'm going to see TWILIGHT!!!! Yes. I am one of those people. I am so obsessed with that series. Obsessed enough to see the movie @ 12:oo a.m after being at the dance studio all day. Did anyone else totally throw themselves into these books?

It made me wonder...if you know the story....which one of the Sabres would you want to be your Edward Cullen? Your Edward who is totally and completely perfect in every single way. Seriously....this fictional character has ruined real men. I don't think it's a "no brainer" who I would pick.

Yes Ryan....you do indeed dazzle me frequently.

W-O-W stands for?

So, it's been a while since I've posted a blog....it's been a really busy start of the week. But now, nothing and no one will take away my excitement and joy because Rachy, Meesh, and I are going to the Tree Lighting/Ryan Miller Meet N' Greet/Rockette's Christmas show this Sunday. I ordered the tickets today!

I declare W-O-W to not only stand for the word wow, but when pertaining to this upcoming weekend...let's just call it the WEEKEND OF WONDER!

And because Rachael had to sing "bring every goalie you love..." just like in the commercial....I can't stop singing it...

Thanks Rach! Let's just hope I'm not singing it Sunday when we meet him...he'll clearly give me that stoic - "what the hell is wrong with you?" look....awww Ryan!

L

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree

So when I heard that Ryan Miller was going to light the Christmas tree downtown in Buffalo I was pretty excited. I always miss the extracurricular Sabres activities. Lucky for me I'll be in town for the game Saturday night so we're going to stay for the lighting! YAY for Ryan Miller and Christmas. 2 of my favorite things!

So then upon further research I find out that Ryan is doing a meet and greet with the Radio City Rockettes @ Shea's. I AM SO EXCITED!!! I have wanted to see the Rockettes since I was a little girl. Watching them open the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is still my favorite part of Thanksgiving! We were going to get tickets for the show but never did. NOW I finally get to see the Rockettes, MEET the Rockettes AND RYAN MILLER!!!
I always get so excited when the Rockettes commercial comes on MSG during the games. I have a feeling that now I'm going to have a miny fit every time they come on. LoL
"Fill your heart with Christmas. Bring every goalie you love!"

Thank You Michael Peca!

So I know I posted about how excited I was about Michael Peca making his return tonight and now I must thank him. Thank you Mike for giving me something to be positive about after that shit show of a hockey game tonight. If I couldn't focus my love on you right now I'm sure I'd be pretty miserable. If I'm not mistaken, after you scored your goal tonight you looked at the tv camera and said "that one was for you Rachael." Thanks Michael. Right back at ya!

The most exciting thing for me tonight Sabres-wise was when this happened.....

Now don't get me wrong. I love Lalime! I think he's a great goalie and a great guy! It just wasn't his night. Ryan Miller always makes me happy. No pucks went in the net when he was on the ice. That's all I'm saying.

Lastly, did you guys watch the Sabres Show tonight and see the "You ask the sabres" or whatever the crap they called that segment? All I have to say is "Prealian" Drew? Really? Even I think that's hilariously lame and it's no secret that I'm pretty much in love with you.

Oh well....tough night. I hope tomorrow night's game is better than tonight's. Poor Phineous the Pigeon is probably homeless tonight! Don't let the little guy down tomorrow!

R

I've been waiting for this all season!!!

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!! It's the return of my first hockey love to HSBC Area! Yay Michael Peca!!!! Oh Michael how I've loved you as a Sabre, an Islander, an Oiler and *GASP* even a Leaf! I even still have a jar of these.....

I'm so excited for you to be back, however I must ask you to please not grab any refs tonight. I don't want to see you get in any more trouble. Oh....and if you hit Drew Stafford again our relationship is over. I'm hoping Drew will be playing tonight as "the walking injury" Tim Connolly is "questionable" for tonight. *insert eye roll here*

On another note....

What is wrong with this picture?! Ryan Miller in last place? THIS SHOULD NOT BE!!!! If you were on the all-star ballot I'm pretty sure that Ryan would spend the weekend @ home being a mouse potato and vote for you as many times as he could. GO VOTE NOW!!!!! And while you're at it you should probably write in Drew Stafford as your 3rd choice for Eastern Conference forward! ;o)

I had a dream...

So, I don't know if this dream came about because I read that they set the date for the next Catwalk and I've been cheering for Goose to get a goal lately or what...but I thought I'd share it anyway..

So, Rachy and I were all dressed up as if we were going to the Catwalk...but it was at your favorite grocery store and mine:

LOL

So, We're just kinda hanging out there. A band was there doing sound check, but no guests were there yet other than Rachy and I.

After a bit, Goose comes walking in in a suit all by himself. Comes over to us and says "Hey ladies, nice to see you here." Of course we were like, it's always nice to see you Goose - and I mean literally...

so then He says, "I need to get my groceries before the Catwalk starts, you guys need anything?"

We then started walking around Wegmans with Goose. As we walk around the store, Goose filled his cart until it was overflowing almost. I was like Holy crap does he have enough food?

We then go to check out and I say to him, "uh, where ya gonna put all that food during the Catwalk Goose?"

He was like, "we can run it to my place before it starts."

so, we went to take it to his house...

then we go back to Wegmans - and all of the players were at these tables signing autographs...

Most bizzare dream ever clearly!

And now on to reality - Andrew got Phineus (or the team pigeon.)

I so proud of him. hehehe

Gooo Andrew! :)

I want you....

I want you to vote for our all-stars!!!

Look at all those smiling faces. Just warms the heart doesn't it? VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!

In other news.....no Stafford again tonight? What the crap Sabres?! Wgr reports no Stafford and no Kaleta tonight. As upset as I am about this, I am excited about the fact that there is a possibility of a Mair/Goose/Peters line tonight. What a bunch of bruisers. LoL No matter who is on the ice I hope the Sabres kick it up a notch from their last game and come away with 2 points!

NHL Stars need to make commercials more often!

HA! Remember when I posted about Ryan Miller being in a commercial about switching over to digital cable? I FOUND IT! Huzzah. I'm not sure why but this is hilarious to me. It's like Eric Staal just learned to read and is really feeling the pressure to do it on cue. ".gov? I've never even heard of that before." Awesome Jordan! Jonathan Toews looks like someone drugged him and then threw him in front of the camera. He's 2 steps away from running away and yelling "I NEED AN ADULT!" My tv is ready Ryan!

Ok..I know I said I was done with Connolly....but I couldn't resist...

the opportunity to further make fun of him...

I've just decided that Connolly is our team's Beav...

and no I don't mean...

Leave it to Beaver

I mean Beavis!

"I AM TIM-WHOLE-EEEE-OH!"
(what a douche!) LOL

Sabres - Stafford = Fail

I don't really have much to say about this game because
A) I'm mourning Drew's absence from the game.
and
B) I've pretty much had a TERRIBLE day!

The Sabres played a pretty good game tonight. The team did get a point so not a total loss.
Max actually scored a goal! How did that happen!?
Griz's goal was a sweet goal. Lets keep him!
Nothing made me happier than Connolly's goal being given to Vanek.
I agree that Vanek's "goal" was a "no goal" and that was indeed a trip Derek Roy.
As far as the OT, that was a pretty crappy rebound Miller gave out.

Like I said, the Sabres did get a point tonight and hopefully they will come out ready to go tomorrow.....with Drew.

Tick Tock Sabres.....Tick Tock.

Tomorrow is the day. Jochen Hecht is back and ready to play, and that means we have to move a player that is currently on the roster. Am I the only one that wishes stupid Connolly would be put on the IR list? Andrej Sekera, Patrick Kaleta and Drew Stafford could possibly be sent to Portland tomorrow.
I am in a deep, deep depression tonight my friends. The possibility of my favorite guitar hero being sent so far away is really getting me down. I can't even stand to read the comments on the message boards anymore. "Sending Drew down will be a wake up call" and "See ya Stafford!" You're killing me people!
Don't do this to me Lindy! Ya hear me!
So I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow. Hopefully I won't have to dress all in black and go on a hunger strike.

Just putting in my thoughts....

This is going to be pretty short and sweet. Today was sooo long and I'm dead tired, but I clearly can't go a day without blogging!

First of all....

Second of all....what the hell Tim Connolly?! I mean seriously! I'm sorry for bashing but how much can we take as a fan base? What have you done for me lately Tim? Come back and wow me and I'll show you some love. As of right now you really just annoy me.

R

And TC's injury is?

a sore groin....

LOL - I have nothing further to say about him...

L

Get Rid of Tim Connolly? Yes We Can!

Here's a scenario folks...

If you knew you could work for someone that would let you get away with being "hurt" or sick all the time, wouldn't you milk it for all it's worth?

Most of us hard working, middle class people would say absolutely not! You should earn what you get!

But the Sabres indeed have a milker on the team...and it's Tim Connolly!!!!!!!

Here's the headline I just read on WGR....

"Are you f-ing serious!" Is what I yelled as I read my computer screen - not even surprised in the least.

Attention Sabres: Is keeping poor, little sickly "Timmykins" on our team really a good financial move? GET A FREAKING CLUE!

And of course, we keep a guy like that and get rid of players that work for their pay!

Re-damn-diculous! TC's ship has come and gone....period!

- here ends my vent....

L

PS - Thanks to MJ over at My Safety is Harvard for "Timmykins." love it!

"I play on expert bitch!"

Today has been such an exciting day! We have a new president! Obama '08! Yes We Can! Almost equally exciting....4 Sabres are included on the NHL AllStar Fan Ballot! Starting Nov. 12th you can vote for Ryan Miller, Thomas Vanek, Derek Roy and Teppo Numminen. Holler!!!

So while parusing some random youtube videos today I came across this piece of awesomeness. It reminded me your favorite guitar hero AND mine......

Seriously though, check this out and tell me that Drew DOSEN'T do this on his days off! How else would he prepare for Invisible Children's first tour? Or maybe he just likes to relive his time on the Warped Tour with his new bffs "Everytime I Die?" Either way....it's freakin funny!

"Fill my eyes with that double vision"

IT'S MILLERTIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a game! 2 consecutive shutouts for Ryan Miller! WOOHOO! The Sabres pretty much skated circles around the Devils tonight.
Here are my thoughts throughout the game.....
1. Rivet is back!
2. Wow....I hate vs!
3. Pommers!!! I love you and your velveteen hair!
4. Boy I really hate vs....who the hell dressed Engblam? Striped suit, checkered shirt, pattern tie?
5. OMG Connolly lost his helmet! Raise the injury alert level to RED!
6. Gee I wonder if Brodeur is out with an injury? I sure hope these guys mention it 1 more time.
7. Yay for a win! Double yay for a 2nd shutout! Triple yay for lalime's sweet dance moves!

And Speaking of the Hat....

I just wanted to say:

#1 - Holy Hot are they batman! Thank you to the person who took this pic! God Bless you in fact!

and

#2 - I so knew Ryan would eventually have a hat like the one pictured above! In fact, last week at Target, I said to Rachael and some of our other friends..."Mark my words, Ryan Miller will eventually sport a hat just like this one." I was so freaking right! But it doesn't come a shocker really. After all, Ryan always covers the three F's - Fun, Funky, and Fashionable....the three requirements for his Catwalks for Charity!

mmmhmm!

Boy did I pick the wrong game!

So last night Lucinda and I drove up to Clarkson University to take in our first Golden Knights game of the season. So instead of seeing a freakin sweet game from the Sabres and a SHUTOUT FROM RYAN MILLER, we watched the Knights lose 5-3 to the Carleton University whatever they were. So sad. I did get to see Pommer's goal during intermission. And I see Royzie got a goal as well. Love works miracles boys. Love works miracles.

So lets talk Golden Knights. Do any of you other bloggers follow any college teams? Luckily last night's game wasn't a part of the ECAC regular season....just an exhibition game. Here are my top 3 Knights to watch this season....well I'll be watching them, so you will be too! :O)

1. Shea Guthrie: Sadly Shea is injured and didn't get to play last night, but it's his senior year and hopefully he'll be out on the ice soon! He has also been drafted by the NY Islanders. Last season Shea had 13 assists and 9 goals, 5 of them being game winners.

2. Tom Pizzo: Sophomore from Rochester, I'm just going to assume he's a Sabres fan! I like this kid because he's pretty scrappy. Even though he's small he isn't afraid to throw a punch. He skated in 24 games last season scoring 2 goals and getting 4 assists.

3. Eric Daddario: Ok Ok....last night was the first time I ever saw this kid play in a game. He didn't get to play at all last year. And I'm not gonna lie...he caught my attention because he's gorgeous!!! None the less, I'll be cheering him on this season.....even if he's sitting on the bench!

R
