My Goodbye

Remember when I said that nothing could go wrong tonight with the game?

WRONG!!!!!!!!

I didn't even get to SEE the game! It was blacked out here! BOOO!!! What I heard on the radio I wasn't too impressed with at all. 4-1 Sabres? Really? Ugh! Sharpie did score a goal though. So woo hoo for that I guess?

Anyway...

This is my official goodbye. This is my last post until I come home from my cruise. I'll only be missing 3 games so I hope nothing huge happens while I'm away. (And if any of you really loved me, you'd email if I do!) Last year when I landed in Miami I had 3 voice mails telling me Drew Stafford scored a hat trick. Don't do that to me again Drew K?

I leave you with a list of a few of the musical artists I'll be spending the next week with. They are all AMAZING and I encourage you to check out their tunes!

Tonight's looking really good!

Off the top of my mind I really can't think of anything that could go wrong tonight? Sabres vs. Hawks. I'd be lying if I didn't say I wanted the Sabres to win, but I really don't mind if the Hawks win either. Ryan isn't in the net tonight so that's a bummer. I'm excited to see Soupy again! I'm still a passenger on the "I love Soupy" train. I work until 8 tonight so an 8:30 start time is superb! And since I won't be focusing my love on Miller tonight....Hey there Mr. Sharp!

Ok this blog was pretty lame and pointless but I needed to write something! It's been almost a week since my last post! I'm leaving for my cruise TOMORROW! I've been out of my mind busy trying to get everything done before I leave. AHHHH!!!!!!!!!

FIST PUMP!

Oh man did I love this! This picture brings one of my favorite sayings to mind. "Suck it Drury!" I didn't get to see the entire game tonight. Mostly the first few minutes of the 1st, the end of the 3rd and the OT Shootout. I don't know how the rest of the game went but what a 3rd period for the Sabres! And may I just say MILLERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! I always love seeing Buffalo beat the Rangers because everyone up here is such a fan. And tonight they can all shut it and bask in the glory that is a Sabres win! How great is it after a win when Ryan does the "YES WE WIN" fist pump and the team comes and piles on him? Ahhh yes. Keep up the good work boys!

Oh and I thought you all should know if you didn't already. Goose loves the kids. Can this man do anything wrong???

Should I be excited about this?

Barenaked Ladies have been one of my favorite bands for quite sometime. In fact I'm one of those snotty fans who if somebody tells me, "Hey yeah I love BNL! One Week is the best song ever" I will roll my eyes at you. Seriously. If you don't own "Born on a Pirate Ship" don't speak to me. I love Ed Robinson. He can be my Yoko Ono any day!

See! Clearly we're bffs! But really I'm not sure how I feel about their version of the Hockey Night in Canada theme song? You can listen to it here: http://watch.tsn.ca/nhl/clip125845#clip125845
It's fun and all. Very BNL. But if that were to come on before a Sabres game I really don't think it would pump me up for the game? And seeing you in those ugly Sens and Leafs jerseys just makes me sad boys.

In other news, today was my long day @ the dance studio. During my lunch break I got a Sabres text and I thought "Oh great, Tim Connolly must have gotten hit by a car or something." But NO! It was to inform me that Thomas Vanek had been added to the Eastern Conference All Star team! Woohoo!!! Yay Thomath! You're thuch a thuperthstar! However I can't lie to you people. We're too close. I feel I can speak openly and freely. And I'm speaking freely when I say WHAT THE HELL?!?! WHERE'S MY TEXT MESSAGE TELLING ME ABOUT RYAN BEING ON THE ALL STAR TEAM TOO?!?!?! How can there be a Soupy and Ryan reunion now? Someone please tell my that my in-box was full and I just didn't get the message and tomorrow everything will be ok!

From what I DID see...

I had to work tonight until 8:00 so I knew I was going to miss a good chunk of the game. Sadly I missed this.....

Drew's 9th goal of the season! WOOHOO!!!

I also missed this...

Really Rutu?! Really?! Mair was right. You really are a joke. What kind of goon won't drop the gloves and decides to bite instead? I really don't even know what to say about how ridiculous this is. Andrew I hope you listen to Mike Robitaille's advice and get a rabies shot!

So after I miss all the fun stuff already I get in the car to drive home and listen to the game on xm. Sabres are winning 3-0. Them BAM! Sens score. BAM! Sens score. Those didn't matter though. Vanek put the game away with a pass from Stafford and an empty netter to put them on top 4-2.

The Sabres have had a great start to Two Thousand and Roy! Let's keep it up boys!

Random Ramblings

Hello all! It's been awhile. I've just been lazy. I don't really have much to talk about, but since I haven't posted in a few days I thought I'd find some things to ramble about.

- Does anyone in our Sabres blogosphere have a twitter? I just got addicted to this silly thing. If you have one lets be friends k? http://www.twitter.com/RachyG

- I loved seeing the Sabres beat the Bruins! Especially since they are the "be all end all" of the NHL at the moment. Matt Ellis what happened to you buddy?!

- El Capitano is back! WOOHOO!!!!! I've been waiting for Mr. Rivet to hit the ice again. You were missed sir. You were missed.

- I just watched Tim Connolly's interview on sabres.com and got a little huffy when he said "we're in a fight for a playoff spot right now." YOU haven't really done anything this season so I really don't think you are part of the "we" Tim. But I'm glad you're "feeling good" so you can play in a game soon and injure something else. *insert eye roll here*

- I went to the gym today and sweat my boo-tay off! I don't know if I ever mentioned it on here or not but I joined weight watchers at the end of October. I've lost 23lbs. so far. I have weigh in tomorrow morning and I'm hoping to hit 25!

- I'm leaving for my cruise (http://www.therockboat.com) in 12 days! I CAN'T WAIT!!! Last year when I got off the plane in Miami I had a voicemail from my mom telling me I had missed Drew scoring a hat trick. Drew don't do that to me again this year ok?

- I was sad there were no Sabres in the All-Star starting line-up. I was however excited that Soupy was voted in. I still love him. I'm not sure why there is Soup hate? The man has such sweet singing skills! teehee.

- Catwalk for Charity III is in 34 days. I need to buy shoes.

Will 2009 be the year of the 9's?

I'm still amazed at last night's performance. It was all about the 9's. Derek Roy with 2 goals - Pommers with 2 goals - Ryan Miller - who had a 9 in his number in college - had a great game. 9's, 9's, 9's!

All the nines, contributed - well, all the nines that aren't chronically "hurt." Yeah, I'm talking about you #19!

So, I ask this - isn't the New Year about "out with the old and in with the new?" Something to think about Sabres Management!

"Don't be a hot dog! It's not the Canadian way!"

I really enjoyed watching yesterday's Winter Classic from Chicago but I've made a very important decision in my life. I'm never going to root for the team I want to win again. Obviously I wanted the Sabres to win last year.
Strike 1.
Yesterday I was really pulling for my Chicago boyfriend Sharpie.
Strike 2.
Oh well. It was still really awesome to see. I loved how everyone in the crowd had a paper to hold over their head so it spelled Winter Classic. There's not one photo of this on getty. WTF GETTY! I watched the CBC broadcast and have decided that Don Cherry is indeed a nutbag...yet still fun to watch. Quote of the day definitely came from Cherry! "Don't be a hot dog! It's not the Canadian way!"

From a photographers point of view there were some amazing shots on getty of the classic. Check out some of my favorites....

As for the Sabres game yesterday.....I didn't even get to see it. But I'm really happy they beat the Leafs! Way to start the year off with a bang guys! Keep it up!
