Happy Hockey Day Canada

Happy Hockey Day to all my neighbors to the north! I'm actually headed to Canada today. I'm seeing The Trews play in Kingston tonight. Anyone else a fan?

Because I'll be @ the concert I'll sadly be missing the game. Hopefully I'll come home and have a reason to use my favorite phrase of "Suck it Drury!"

Tallinder is ready to hit the ice tonight. Teppo Numminen will be cozy and warm in the press box with Paestch.

I don't really have much to say about tonight's match-up. Of course I'm hoping for a win. It's pretty much Rangers country here where I live so I'm glad to be heading north.....where it will be leafs/sens country. UGH! lol

Still miss these!

Every time A Flyers game rolls around I can only think of one thing......

Just how much I miss the Marty Biron spoofs on WGR! You have NO idea how much joy those silly things brought me! I just tried to search the audio vault but this is the only one I could find.
http://audio.wgr550.com/m/audio/19278361/inside-the-head-of-marty-biron.htm?q=Marty+Biron (Ps...why have I never learned to make a link?)

Anway...does anyone have any of the old marty spoofs saved? The "SexyBack" one was my favorite! hahahahahaha

Awww Marty I still miss you.....but I hope you lose tomorrow.

Drew x2

What a game tonight by the Sabres! Please excuse my stupidity in my previous post. I got the leafs game mixed up with the oilers game. Woops. Moving on.....

My first thought of tonight centers on Mr. Justin Pogge. First home start for this kid all season. You'd think I'd be a little excited for him.....but nope. Not at all. All I could think about were fun nicknames to taunt him with. Lucinda had a good suggestion with "pierogi." I do like those. I do not like him. So I decided to go with POGS for the rest of the game.

Hahahahaha remember those? "NICE SAVE THERE POGS!"

Anywho.....end of the 1st period and the Sabres had a nice 3-0 lead thanks to Drew "I'm not Joey Ramone" Stafford, Dan Paille and Matt Ellis. I don't know about you but I bet you agree with me in saying it should have been a 4-0 lead. Pommers goal definitely should have counted. The net was completely on and I really don't think he made a "forward chest movement." Oh Well.

No highlights for the 2nd period really. The leafs' Paval Kubina scored a power play goal to make the score 3-1.

I know I mentioned before how much I hated VS. Chris Simpson? Really? Could her boobs have been hanging out anymore? Real professional there chicky. Cover those up because I really don't enjoy you interviewing my beloved team looking like that. Ok. Thanks.

3rd period came around and Drew scored ANOTHER goal! YAY!!!!! Finally I get to actually SEE Drew Stafford being awesome and not have to hear it on the radio! Stafford's goal was the game winner and made the final 4-1 Sabres.

Here's my 3 stars of the game.

1. Drew Stafford. 2 goals and setting his personal season high with his 16th and 17th of the season. I hope you get the pigeon tonight again buddy!

2. Ryan Miller. Stopped 26 of 27 shots tonight and made some GREAT saves! Nothing new though right?

3. Dan Paielle. A goal and an assist tonight.

Thoughts before tonight's game.

1. The last time the Sabres played the Leafs they won 10-1. I was sick and missed it. Clearly it would be amazing if they could mirror that game. Even just a little bit!

2. It would not be amazing for them to mirror their last game. NOT even just a little bit.

3. I wonder who will be in the net tonight? Angry Miller usually means good Miller...we'll see.

4. I hate Leaf fans.

5. Tonight's game is on VS. Those fools might be worse than the leaf fans.

Weekend Ramblings

I haven't had time to blog all weekend so I thought I'd jumble everything together tonight. So sit back, relax, and get ready for a pretty long post written by moi! (Which is pretty rare!)

So let's start with Friday night's game vs. the Sharks. WOW! It's been a LONG time since I've seen the team make a comeback like that. I just about fell off my chair when Pommers tipped in that goal. I was so relieved that the team could pull off a win for the city. What a horrible tragedy for everyone to have to go through. My thoughts and prayers are still with all the victims and those affected. Lindy Ruff had this to say after the game....

"I think, yeah, ever so small, this event turned out to be a positive night," Ruff said. "Though it is a hockey game, it was a good ending. It's a positive feeling. We needed it. I think our fans needed it."

So true. It's kind of like after 9/11 when Saturday Night Live went back on the air. People needed to laugh. People needed to smile. People needed something to forget about life for awhile.

Thank you Sabres for being that distraction. Thank you Ryan Miller for throwing the puck at Milan Michalek after stopping his shot. That sure made me smile!

Saturday was Valentine's Day. I really have nothing to say about this. I have no Valentine. *sigh*

I read a story on http://www.newzjunky.com/ today about a couple that got married in Syracuse yesterday. After the ceremony they donned their SU gear and went to cheer on the team. When SU beat Georgetown they began their normal wedding reception. HOW GREAT IS THAT?! I would totally go to a Sabres game on my wedding day! I've always said I wanted my wedding pictures taken center ice at the arena. Maybe next Valentines Day.......or I'll just have to go with play B.....standing outside Ryan's house playing songs to make him fall in love with me a-la-say anything.

Moving on to tonight's game vs. the Hurricanes. OY! I didn't watch the whole thing but clearly I didn't really miss anything. I watched Miller start the game. I went to eat dinner. Miller was gone. Never a good sign. Seriously I didn't see one thing that I can comment on. Shutouts are great....not when you're on the side with the goose egg! And speaking of Goose, Lindy said he could be ready to play Thursday. Fingers crossed!

Last but not least I'd like to welcome http://www.nhlsnipers.com to my blog roll! VERY cool site so make sure to go check it out!

An Early Valentine

Puck Daddy brought this video to my attention.....

Hahahahaha!!!! The Ladies man has always cracked me up. I'm a fan Adam Burish but my Ladies man vote is going to have to go to Sharpie.

The Sabres take on the Sharks tonight @ HSBC Arena. Buffalo currently sits in 8th place in the East and San Jose is at the top for the West. Joy.
***Paging Thomas Vanek. Thomas Vanek to the ice please.***

We'll see how it goes. After the Ottawa game Ryan was pretty pissed. Lets hope he channels that anger into a win tonight!

Catwalk Pictures

As promised here are my pictures from Catwalk. I've decided not to write a long detailed blog about how amazing the event was. Jill and Caroline have already done a great job with that. (Nice to meet you ladies!) I've said it before but I'm saying it again. Dean and Ryan Miller are about as classy as they come. Not only did they put on a beautiful and fun event, but the money they raised will help so many families and children. The $50,000 donated to Carly's Club was only the tip of the ice burg of what is yet to come from The Steadfast Foundation. I clearly can't wait for Catwalk IIII!!!

Catwalk for Charity Videos

I'm totally late in writing about CFC but I had SUCH an amazing time. I have to be to work soon but I thought I'd share the videos I uploaded so far. I have one more but for some reason it doesn't want to go from my camera to my computer. BOO! So in the meantime, enjoy Drew's lovely drum solo, Ryan and Drew rocking out with the band and a Derek Roy singing like it's his job!

I'll post all of my pictures later.

Hanging out in Buffalo

Got into town tonight for CFCIII! After dropping our stuff @ the hotel we went to Pearl Street to catch the game. That was the plan at least. We couldn't even find a place to park! Clearly we went @ the wrong time. So we headed to Jack Astor's for dinner and the game because it's a favorite of both Lu and I. I LOVE the Baja chick tacos.....which are no longer on the menu. Bummer.

We ended up catching the end of the game here @ the hotel downstairs. Half of the room was watching the Sabres game while the other half was watching to Leafs game. The guy sitting next to me leaned over and said "Come on Sens!" during the shootout. HOW DARE HE! Jinx! When they lost he was like "I didn't mean it." Well thanks sir. I blame you for everything. How about that shot Thomas took to the mouth?! OUCH!!! I hope he's ok. From the looks of it I wouldn't be surprised if he had a broken jaw. Ugh I hope it's nothing that bad!

So now I'm just sitting here chilling in the hotel. (Which is beautiful! I've never stayed here before and I love it! Totally coming back!) I already tried on my catwalk dress just to make sure I still liked it. I even practiced my 20's style makeup. Hahahaha what a loser. I'M CLEARLY EXCITED FOR TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!

In closing I leave you with this......

How did I miss this?! What exactly is going on here? LoL

I need your Buffalonian expertise!

Lucinda and I are headed to Buffalo tomorrow for CFCIII. We decided to go a day early to get in the proper Buffalo experience. I.E shopping and eating. Ya know...all the good stuff. But we have one small glitch. We simply CAN NOT miss a Sabres/Ottawa game!

SO.....

Where can we go to catch this game? Somewhere we can grab a bite, have a few drink and still be able to HEAR the game and not just see it on a screen across the room.

Any suggestions would be quite helpful!

Hats off for Tom, Drew is sick and Scruffy goalie love

I'm always so behind. I totally should have written last night but I couldn't keep my eyes open.

First of all....SHUTOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go Ryan. Major MAJOR goalie love! And I must add in that I love the scruffy goalie look!

Next up lets chat about that crazy move Drew pulled off. In the words of pretty much everyone it was "sick!" However I have a small bone to pick with you Mr. Stafford. STOP DOING GREAT THINGS WHEN I'M NOT THERE TO SEE THEM!!! I had just got in my car and turned on the game on my way home to hear RJ go absolutely crazy over the goal. You're lucky your post-game interview made me forgive you. All that was missing was your sleepover buddy on your shoulder.

What is there really to say about Mr. Vanek. He was clearly nothing short of fantastic. This was the first hat trick I've gotten to see all year. I love seeing the hats fly! I was amused because they kept showing Tom and Tim chat on the bench after they each had netted a goal. Then Thomas netted a few more and every time they showed the two of them Tim was looking the other way. Jealous? Awwww Tim....I pretty much hate you. However, props for staying out of the hospitals lately. You're right up there with "Tim Taylor" from "Home Improvement."

Do you think this is TV's hat or do you think he picked it out of the hat trick garbage can in the hallway? teehee

I pretty much would like to end my ramblings with this....

Way to go Leafs. Way to be horrible!

Props for the love Ducks!

Welcome home boys! You all have no idea how glad I am for you all to be back in Buffalo! I simply can't take the late starts anymore. I had to take a nap this afternoon! No worries. I'll stay up for you when you need me.

Kind of a bummer last night. After the first period things kind of went down hill. Major props to Patty Kaleta for his goal! Same for El Capitano Rivet! Lalime had a decent game. I got a little nervous when he got skated over but I must admit I was pumped to see Ryan ready to go! How sad am I?! I just wanted to see Miller vs. Miller. I must give major props to the Ducks brodcast for all the Miller love last night! Even Dean got some camera time.

However speaking of Ducks....what's with this fashion show?! Catwalk for Charity > Quacks on the runway. 5 days my friends! 5 days! Anyone excited yet?

I'M ALIVE!!!

I'm back from vacation! Ok I've been back for about a week but I've been a horrible blogger in that week.

The cruise was AMAZING!!!! Every time I'm on TRB I remember just how much I love music and what a big part of my life it is. I hope you guys had time to check out some of the artists I spent my week in the middle of the ocean with. If you'd like to check out some of my videos of performances from the ship you may do so on my youtube channel....

I'm slowly adding them on....they take forever to upload.

So unlucky for me when I got off the boat I got sick....for the entire week. ugh. You may be asking, "Rachael does that mean you missed the most amazing win of the year?!" YEP! SURE DOES! I slept through the 10-2 win over the Oilers. I slept through Drew's hat trick.

I slept through this.....

(thanks for the image sabre chaser!)

But ya know what it's ok. I'm moving on. I DID get to see the SHUTOUT against the Coyotes. OH HEY RYAN! And speaking of Ryan..... T-6 days until Catwalk!!!

So starting today I promise to be a better blogger. I will no longer ignore you all. I missed you!
