What a day!

Today was trade deadline day. I was pretty excited to see what would unfold. I was pretty pumped about the Vermette trade only because I think he's pretty nice looking. With him no longer being a Sen I'm free to admire him. hahaha
Sabres signed Connolly for 2 more years.....whatever. I know there are a lot of people out there that are really pumped about this news. Me not so much. But whatever. If he stays healthy then I'll be happy.
Mikael Tellqvist was acquired from Phoenix. This made me quite nervous. I can understand wanting to having a backup goalie with nhl experience, but it makes me think Miller isn't coming back for the rest of the season. HEARTBREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dominic Moore also jumped on the Sabre train from Leaf nation. Oh my God I just typed Leaf Nation. Ew.
Sad news of the day is Al Kotalik going to Edmonton. I'm gonna miss you Al. All the times we shared @ Chefs while you ate your pasta and I laughed your hats and spice girl glasses. I hope you coached everyone in shootout before you left.
In even sadder news.....Max Afinogenov is still a Sabre.

GOOD NEWS.....Buffalo beat Montreal tonight 5-1. Patty was 1:06 away from a shutout. SO CLOSE! What a great game tonight though! I didn't get to see the 3 stars of the game but my personal star goes to the Goose! How adorable was he after his shorty?! He was freakin giddy on the bench! LoL
Thomas Vanek made his return wearing his "Silence of the Lambs" mask. Glad he's back out there.

You guys have NO idea how pumped I was to see Stafford score not once but TWICE tonight! Hallelujah it's a black friday miracle! I simply can't stand all the hate on Drew right now. All the trade talk. I read a thread on a Sabres message board all about how Drew needs to drop the rock and roll star attitude and play hockey. Ugh it makes me so mad. Everyone goes through slumps. I hope he can keep on playing the way he did tonight because he was clearly amazing. I didn't see the 3 stars of the game but clearly Drew should be 1st.

And let us all GIVE A HONK FOR THE GOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Mr. Game Winner! Where are you going to spend your 20 cents Paul? In case you missed it, Goose said in his post game interview that his grandfather has given him a dime for every goal he has scored since he was little. How cute is that?!

I was so happy to see the Sabres get 2 pts. tonight. I really really can not stand Sidney Crosby, or the "crown jewel of the nhl" as I like to call him. I'd really like to see Kaleta or Mair punch him square in the jaw. Oh well....doesn't matter. He's a big ol' loser tonight. Huzzah!

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween Sabre fans! I'm going to totally ignore the fact that last night's game was terrible. It was a trick! A trick I tell you!!!

Of course I can't let this spooky day go by without posting some pictures of others in costumes right? Do you think any of the guys will be opening their doors to trick-or-treaters tonight?
If anyone ends up on Ryan's doorstep tonight looking for some candy, (or a soyjoy bar) make sure you give him a hug for me. I'm thinking he had a pretty rough night. It's ok Ryan! Everyone has their crappy games, and boy was last night yours! I still love you though!

If anyone goes trick-or-treating themselves I'm pretty sure it's going to be Andrew Peters. Lucky for the kids I don't think Andrew can walk too far in those heels so there will be plenty of candy left for everyone in his neighborhood!

Moving along to my favorite philanthropist and my favorite Austrian. All that comes to my mind is "Who wears short shorts." :O)

Last but not least we have Pommers. This year Pommers has decided to go as the King of Pominville. Like Andrew, I don't think JP will have too much time to spend trick-or-treating. It's tough work ruling the land of Pominville! Although I think the population has dropped since last season? ;o)
